Paul Perra is currently the Northeast Recreational Fisheries Coordinator for the National Marine Fisheries Service in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

He is an avid lifetime recreational fisherman, and has held past positions as a marine fisheries scientist, as the Director for the Interstate Fisheries Management Program of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, and as a Fisheries Biologist/Manager at the National Marine Fisheries Service, Headquarters Office in Silver Spring, Maryland.

He has spent his 39-year fisheries career studying fish, or working with groups conducting management programs for Atlantic coast marine fisheries. Paul will discuss angler registry/licensing, field data collection, phone survey, for-hire survey changes, and recent economic studies (including the MA marine recreational fishing valuation study).

RISAA Board member George Allen has been fishing Rhode Island waters for over 30 years. George Allen
A retired Navy commander, he keeps his boat at the Newport Naval Base marina, and as such has become knowledgeable of all of the waters around Newport. He fishes regularly from Beavertail to Sachuest Point for striped bass and fluke.

George will discuss his methods of fishing for stripers with eels and trolling jigs and parachutes.

He will have charts of the whole area and plans to point out the areas where he finds bass, and will show anglers how to find and fish ledges and underwater structure where the striped bass live.
