~ TWO TOPICS  ~
Clean The Bay
with
Wendy Mackie and Capt. Joe Mariani

Clean The Bay Have you ever given any thought to why RI has some of the cleanest shorelines on the East Coast? Clean the Bay is a non-profit organization that locates and removes large and hazardous marine debris from our shores.
"We have been removing docks, pilings, whole or remnant parts of derelict boats and fishing gear as well as other items like tires, foam, engine parts and plastic since 2006," said Wendy Mackie, Executive Director of Clean The Bay.
To date, Clean the Bay has removed more than 1,600 tons of debris. In this presentation, Captain Joe Mariani, Clean The Bay's Operations Manager, and Wendy Mackie will speak about Clean The Bay's operations, equipment and vessels, projects and partnerships, how Clean The Bay got started, where marine debris comes from and what happens to it after it's collected.
This presentation contains lots of great pictures of large debris found all along the shores of Rhode Island.
A Humorous View of Tarpon Fishing In Florida
with
Al Gag

Al Gag Al "Gag" Gagliarducci is not only well-known around the country for his famous line of lures, but also as one of the most popular speakers on the East Coast.
"Al has spoken to our members 7 or 8 times over the years," said Education Committee Chairman Ed Kearney, "and he is always entertaining. Not only does he teach us something each time, he is a great storyteller and one of the funniest guys around. He holds the audience's attention the entire time he talks."
Al will be showing a new video about tarpon fishing. "Your members will love this video," said Al to Steve Medeiros. "It's got a lot of real funny fishing stuff in it."
Al also pomised to show off his new line of Whip-It Eel lures, and as always, he will hold a special charity raffle with a bunch of his lures as prizes.
You can also meet and talk with Al at his booth at RISAA's New England Saltwater Fishing Show in March.
