NANCY GETCHELL

Anyone who attended the RISAA Annual Banquet on February 26 would agree that it was a great event and everyone had a good time.  While credit always must go out to the Entertainment Committee members who helped to plan the event, an extra thanks must go out to the person who chairs the committee.

That person this year is Nancy Getchell.  While there was the usual committee meeting to plan the basics, there is much more intense behind-the-scenes planning that goes on.
There were numerous phone calls and e-mails that started in December to find, design and purchase the perfect antique bronze RISAA pins that all banquet attendees received.

There were the shopping trips to find the centerpieces for the tables.

The seating arrangements for the night always requires a four-person, 3 hour meeting to place 250 members and guests at just the right table with friendly members so everyone feels comfortable.  All was ready.....

Then the Storm of '05 hits on January 23, and all plans are out the window!  As luck would have it, more people could attend on the new date, but the seating arrangements no longer worked and a new plan for 277 was necessary.

Every committee chair will tell you that I become a frantic pest before ANY event, checking and double-checking, calling and e-mailing over and over, until everything goes off without a hitch.

Thanks Nancy for putting up with me, and thanks for the great RISAA Banquet of 2005!

We're PROUD to have Nancy as a RISAA member!
