| "There's a Fisheries Council meeting tonight, want to go?" I'd say. "OK," he replies. "There's a sea bass public hearing tomorrow, want to go?" "Sure." "I have to meet with Senator X at the state house in the morning, want to go?" "OK."  "There's a fund-raiser for Representative X tomorrow night, want to go?" "OK, but do I have to wear a tie?" Add to these, numerous other political fund-raisers, meetings and functions, and you soon realize how much time Bruce Getchell devotes to RISAA's legislative and fisheries interests. Beside serving on the RIMFC Tautog, Enforcement and Fish Traps Advisory Panels, he serves on several RISAA committees. When 1st VP Doug MacPherson reluctantly told us of his resignation at the end of 2004, the logical choice to succeed him was Getchell. You see, the 1st VP of RISAA automatically serves as chairman of the Association's Environmental Protection Committee (formerly Legislative Committee), a position which requires a deep commitment of energy, time and knowledge. He's definitely the best person for this job, and will serve you all very well. We're PROUD to have Bruce as a RISAA member!
