Enthusiasm! That's what Mike Fotiades
brings forth as the new chairman of the Junior Activities
Committee. Taking over the reins in March, he conceived,
constructed and
successfully manned the junior casting area at the Saltwater Fishing
Show. His Junior Committee took part in the Spring Shore Cleanup
Day. At the monthly meetings, he now sits at a Juniors committee table, urging kids who attend seminars with their parents to get involved. He also collects the names for the monthly kid's tackle raffle. Last month he organized a trip to the IMAX Theater to see the Sharks 3D movie, and he has many more plans in the works that he hopes would get more kids involved. All of this would be more than enough extracurricular activity for the average person, but not for Mike. He is also an avid shore angler who fishes with his daughter Sage, and is taking it a step further by writing the "Shore Fishing 101" column for the RISAA newsletter. Mike said that writing the column not only helps him to learn more about shore fishing by giving him the chance to talk to some of the top shore anglers in the state, but it provides him with the opportunity of doing something for the RISAA membership - as if he wasn't already doing enough! We're PROUD to have MIKE as a RISAA member!
